LUNCH BUNCH, June 10, 2014

We had 15 classmates and friends at the Golden Corral on this overcast, cloudy day with occasional popup showers!

We discussed the Exemplary Contribution and Service award presented to Roger McGlade from the Ohio High School Athletic Association.  Thank you, Roger.  We are proud to know you and have you in our class.  Roger said it was pretty overwhelming (especially) to get that award in front of all those people.  Being a fan is why McGlade continues to help.  He states he enjoys being around Zanesville football and basketball, and you get to meet a lot of good people.  Congratulations, Roger.  Our WEB MASTER, Tom Hale, put the picture and the McGlade article that was in the paper under news on our WEB site.

Bill Rushay shared with us that he had inguinal hernia repair, and once the surgeon opened him, he found two hernias.  So he got two repaired for the price of one!  Bill said he was home the same day, and did great.

We discussed the Vista View Greenhouse that Bill Factor shared with us for our 2015 class reunion.  Anita Ropeter Coffey, Maryanna Fenton, Martin and I visited the Greenhouse.  None of us are certain this location is appropriate.  The entire committee needs to visit the site to make a decision.  Other places suggested were The Eagles, ZHS room that is being used for alumni reunions, K of C, Sun Rise - Field House Banquet Hall, Bryans Place, and Eaglesticks.

The Ferguson's were unable to attend today due to tests that Bill is having for pain when taking a deep breath.  They do know that it is not heart involved.  We wish them both well.

Kinsey Tanner said that his wife, Marty, is doing great.  She is on an oral chemo pill that is not causing any side effects, and it is giving her lots of energy.  Her tumor count has gone from the high 900 range to 9!  We will continue to keep her in our prayers.

Gwen was very quiet today since she has laryngitis.  She leaves tomorrow for Fort Lauderdale.  Happy vacation, Gwen.

Bill Rushay very kindly gave the blessing.

Then the eating and chatting began.  We left at 1:30 PM

"How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong.  Because someday in your life you will have been all of these."

~George Washington Carver

I will look forward to seeing you next month on July 8 at 11:30 at the Golden Corral.
