JUNE 12, 2012 LUNCH BUNCH

We had fifteen in attendance for the June lunch on this sunny day.

Cornelia was kind enough to do the blessing for us.

Gerald Roberts is on vacation at Myrtle Beach with friends and family.

Bob and Jean Ross are also on vacation.  Do you think they are golfing?

Martha Pettry is leaving on Thursday to see the Cincinnati Reds game.  Her Dad was an avid Reds fan and took her to many games as a child.  She is excited to see the new baseball field and enjoy a win!

Tom and Mary Ellen Hale, Cynthia Hale Nicholson, and Maryann Zannetti Hale arrived home recently from Colorado.  They took four nice hikes ranging from fairly easy to pretty grueling, but all were beautiful hikes in the Rocky Mountains.  Tom put pictures on Facebook that were amazing, especially the beautiful sunset picture on Longs Peak, and the picture of the moon over the Rockies.  There is still some snow on those rocks!  The cabin they stayed in was beautiful rustic wood with a huge deck on the back.

Sondra Philip has done well since her knee replacement and is planning on getting the other one done soon.

Maryanna Fenton is getting a hip replacement today in New Albany.  Her daughter will be with her for ten days.

Dick Waite is home and doing well.  It sounds like Carolyn is not going to be able to keep him at home.  He is ready to go back to work!

We hope they all do well.

We were sad to learn that JoAnn Patterson passed away suddenly in her bed on Tuesday June 5.  Her 92 year old mother is doing well.  We send out sympathies to the family, and signed a card to be sent to her daughter, Lisa Farber, and her son-in-law Tim as well as her two grandchildren Lauren and Drew.  The Columbus group will especially miss JoAnn at our lunches, and at the Kelton House Museum and Gardens for their amazing teas.  I will miss her riding each month with us to our lunch bunch and sitting in the back seat while Martin chauffeurs us to the Golden Corral.  We had fun gabbing on those rides.

Martha Pettry and I discussed our Nook e-Readers and what we are reading now.  Martha loves the author Irene Hannon.  Cornelia recommends reading Touch Not the Cat by Tracy Fobes.

Until next month, enjoy your summer.  I hope to see you on Tuesday July 10, 2012 at 11:30 at the Golden Corral.
