LUNCH BUNCH 14 February, 2017

Valentines Day is today!  Do not forget your sweetheart!

We had 21 classmates and friends for lunch on this sunny, 51 degree, very beautiful day!

Bill Factor very kindly gave the blessing.  He shared with us a picture of Lash High School painted by Ronnie Apperson!

I was sorry to hear that Carol C. Mahaney Hoffman passed away on January 20, 2017.  Barbara Harris very kindly informed me.  Our class of 1955 extends our sympathy to her family.  Tom has put Carol's obit on our WEB site under News.  We enjoyed Carol coming to our second Tuesday lunches until she became ill, and went to The Helen Purcell Home.

I just learned that Forest Guss passed away on February 7, 2017. It sounds like he had a very active life, and has played golf for the last thirty years with the same buddies.  Our sympathy is extended to his family.

Barbara Welsh Jadwin's husband passed away.  Harry Jadwin was 84.  He and Barbara have been married for 59 years!  Our sympathy is extended to Barbara and her family.

Fannie Bell Brill handed me Pyretta Mary Reid Bohn's obituary today at lunch!  Mary passed away on December 24, 2016.  Mary worked for Champion Spark Plug and retired from Central Trust following many years of service.  She greatly enjoy Florida and the winters she spent there.  Our sympathy is extended to Mary's family.

I received a note from Donna VanMeter. We enjoyed seeing Donna at lunch Bunch with her granddaughter last June driving the 4 and 1/2 hours from her home in Indiana.  She has had her 80th birthday and is still working forty hours per week!  She says she is still able to work at Kroger, and it keeps her busy.  We are all wishing Donna the best, and are hopeful she will make it back sometime this summer!

Barbara Harris is home from receiving a new knee.  The ice machine Barbara pictured on Facebook is helping to keep the swelling down on her knee.  She even went to her beautician and got a beautiful new hairdo!  Congratulations!  We hope you have a speedy recovery.

Tom and Mary Ellen Hale have only gotten to cross country ski six times so far this winter.  Tom says it is boring to exercise in his basement!  I agree, but I predict more snow is on the way.

Several of us stayed until 2:30 having a gab fest, and catching up on each of our lives.

I hope to see all of you next month at 11:30 on March 14 at the Golden Corral.  Remember, if the Zanesville City Schools are closed due to bad weather, we will not have lunch.
