LUNCH BUNCH, December 10, 2013

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!  We had a beautiful blanket of snow this morning when we got out of bed and the Zanesville City Schools were closed!  We tried to get the word around that this does not mean our Christmas party is canceled.  We had 28 out of 41 reservations at our party.

We were sad to learn that Nancy Cohen Fawcett's husband, Harold, passed away last Friday.  Anyone wishing to send a sympathy card to Nancy, please send to this address.  5850 Raiders Rd, Frazeysburg, OH  43822

Kinsey Tanner very kindly gave the blessing for us.  We had a delicious Christmas meal, and plenty of time to chat with each other.

John Power sent me an E-mail saying that Jeri has a terrible cold, and has been spending hours being caregiver for both her parents who are in their nineties.  They were unable to make the lunch, but wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Today we would like to give special thanks to:

Sondra Philip for making all the arrangements for us at the VFW.  The rooms were decorated beautifully for Christmas with three Christmas trees and big wreaths.  The round tables were covered in green tablecloths.

Cornelia and Bill Ferguson for the beautiful center pieces.

Bill Ferguson for playing the special Christmas carols on his trumpet with Cornelia leading the singing.

Sue Richardson for ordering the cake, paying for it, and bringing it to the lunch.  There were choices of white or chocolate cake, both of which were delicious.

Kinsey Tanner for taking all the non-perishable food to a food pantry for those who need it.

Bill Factor for being the chairman for the 2015 class reunion.  He handed out a survey for each of us to fill out.  His questions were:  Do you want the reunion:

Out of Town Salt Fork Lodge.

Three day event.  (i.e. Fri informal free/Sat banquet + program, Sunday church service + brunch)

Two day event (i.e. Fri informal free/Sat banquet + program)

Please E-mail Bill Factor with any input you have for the reunion at

We voted last month to return to the Golden Corral starting in January 2014.  Please spread the word.

My idea of Christmas, whether old fashioned or modern, is very simple:  loving others.  Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?

~Bob Hope

To my friends and family, near and far, I love you all and hope you have a Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year.

I am looking forward to seeing all of you at the Golden Corral on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 11:30.  Remember, if the Zanesville City Schools are closed, we have no lunch.
