LUNCH BUNCH, August 11, 2015

What an incredibly beautiful day!  Sunny, with a light breeze, and in the seventies!  We had 16 friends and classmates present today.  Everyone else was golfing, hiking, or just sitting outside enjoying this beautiful day.

Please keep Barbara Gossett Harris in your thoughts and prayers.  Her Husband, David, passed away this morning.  They had been married for sixty years.  David lived up the street from me on Lindbergh Ave, and we have been friends for many years.  He was such a wonderful guy and will be missed by many.

And also remember Bob Ross, Donna Swope, and Marty Tanner in your prayers for their medical problems.

Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Brown Hinkle arrived from Pickerington today for the lunch.  It was a delight seeing her!

It was also good to see Carolyn Stiers Lanning today.  She is still dealing with pain from her shingles from three years ago called herpetic neuralgia.  Her doctors did tell her to get the shingles vaccine, which she did.  If she ever gets shingles again, hopefully it will be a very light case.

Some of our classmates are having a great summer.  Martha Pettry and her daughter Teri made a trip to Michigan.  From the pictures on Facebook, it appeared they had a very good time.  While at the lunch today, Chuck Pettry dropped in.  He had left early this morning with his fishing buddies for Lake Erie.  But when they got there the water was too rough and they returned home.

Bill Factor and his wife Yvonne are in Alaska.  Everyone says that is a beautiful trip.  Bill should be back for the lunch next month.  Enjoy!  I hope we see many pictures on his return.

Tom and Mary Ellen Hale went to a wedding in Paris.  The wedding and sightseeing pictures on Facebook are awesome.  The pictures Tom took of Versailles Gardens, walking around Paris, Monet Gardens in Giverny, France, and the wedding with a feast that looked unbelievable was amazing!  I am certain there was a good time had by all!

Then Tom and Mary Ellen went on their family vacation to Colorado with lots of hiking in Rocky Mountain Park, Estes Park, Browns Creek Falls Hike, Mills Lake Hike, Plarmigan Lake Hike near Buena Vista, CO and Buena Vista, CO whitewater rafting trip.  Way to go Tom and Mary Ellen!  I hope you are both home now!

Gwen Downing called me from Florida and said that her husband, Jack, has negotiated with Comfort Inn for a discount for our reunion.  So the Comfort Inn and Fairfield Inn both will give you a discount rate if you mention you are from the class of 1955.  Thank You, Jack.  Everyone should have received your 60th class reunion packet from Gwen.  Please return as soon as possible to Melanie Sterling, our Treasurer.

We all said the blessing together, and then the eating and chatter began.  At around 1:30 we said our goodbyes.

Life gives us brief moments with another...but sometimes in those brief moments we get memories that last a life time...

I don't want to brag or make anyone jealous but..I can still fit into the earrings I wore in high school!!!

See you next month on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at the Golden Corral at 11:30.
