We had 20 classmates at our lunch on this beautiful summer day, plus two little ones.  Doug and Mary Jane Palmer arrived from Cuyahoga Falls with their two precious grandchildren, Sophia (2) and Cooper (5).  John Thompson also drove from Cuyahoga Falls to join us today for the second time.  Mary Smith White, who is from Clearwater, FL, made a surprise visit.  She is in Zanesville to vist her daughter.  We enjoyed seeing all of the out of town classmates as well as the "regular" group of classmates in the area.

Jerry Richardson very graciously gave the blessing for us today.

Sue Gause is having her foot surgery on September 2.  She and Chuck hope to make it to the reunion, but it will depend on whether she has her cast off by then.  Our thoughts and prayers are with both Sue and Chuck, as well as Nancy Gildersleeve.  I   recently talked with Nancy, and she continues to do well, but tires easily from her leukemia.

After eating a fabulous lunch, Gerald Roberts and Jean Ross made some announcements regarding our reunion.  There are a total of 43 people signed up for Friday evening on October 15 at the Eagles Club at 6 PM.  There are 22 couples and 8 singles signed up for Saturday evening on October 16 at the Zanesville Country Club.  There are a total of 23 people so far for the Sunday brunch.  There are 35 for the school tour, 6 singles to sit at Gwen's table, and 7 signed up to play golf.  Seven photo books have been ordered for classmates unable to come.

Registration is definitely low, so please call your friends and encourage them to come to the reunion.  If you know of anyone who did not get the letter, please have them call Gwen Curry at 740-453-3615 or her cell at 740-624-2221 and give her your correct address.  She has received some letters back twice that she has sent out.

Gerald also said that there are many who will be wearing their ZHS tee shirts to our Friday evening reunion festivity at the Eagles Club.  These were sold at the ZHS farewell, and he may have more to sell to those wanting them at the reunion.

It is very difficult to know all of our classmates who are deceased who live out of the country or out of state.  If you know of anyone who has passed away who is not on our deceased classmates list on our WEB site, please call Gwen Curry at the phone numbers above.

We hope to see as many as possible at our next lunch on Tuesday September 14, 2010 at 11:30 AM at the Golden Corral.
