We had fourteen attending the lunch on a beautiful summer day.  The Columbus/Worthington gals could not attend today because of other obligations.    Cornelia and Bill were packing to go to Chautauqua in New York State with their family.  We hope they have a wonderful vacation.
Shirley announced that Donis Toler is in the Critical Care Unit in Zanesville.  She visited yesterday and found that he has a ventilator in, and had a large cancerous tumor removed from his lung.  We all signed a card for him and will keep him and his family in our prayers.
Tom Hale and Carl Factor are going to try and make the October lunch.  Carl is trying to get a group together for dinner at Eagle Sticks that evening.  I will try and get the Columbus group out for that day.  If you can join us for dinner on October 14 at 6 PM at Eagle Sticks, please let me know at .
Shirley shared with us that her experimental chemotherapy has failed, and she has been started on oral chemotherapy taking 3 capsules twice a day.  She doesn't have to go back for another three months to the Midwest Medical Center in Zion, IL.  The main side effect of this chemotherapy is fatigue.  We will continue to have positive thoughts regarding her illness, and keep Shirley in our prayers.
David Roberts said that he is having the other cataract removed from his eye.  Next time he comes to the lunch he thinks we will all be much clearer, and younger looking!
We found Barbara Gossett Harris and her husband, David, out in the main dining room.  Several of us went out and chatted with them for a while.
Then the eating and stories started.  We finally all left around 2 PM.
Maybe we had fewer out for lunch today because of the summer Olympics.  I know I need to cut this short to watch the swimming, gymnastics and volleyball.
Always remember you are unique, just like everyone else.
Knowledge is realizing that the street is one-way, wisdom is looking both directions anyway.  Stay safe and healthy.
We hope to see all of you on the second Tuesday at the Golden Corral on Tuesday, September 9, 2008.
