Lunch Bunch - April 2011
We were missing our favorite correspondent, Martha Kay, who was preparing for knee surgery she will have next week. We wish her a successful surgery and speedy recovery.
Paul Slack from the ZHS Class of 1956 showed us a beautiful vase from Heritage Stoneware of Crooksville, www.HeritageStoneware.com, that was glazed with a hand painted view of our high school on one side and a Blue Devils Icon on the other side with the message, "Final Farewell, May 22, 2010". Heritage offers copies of this vase (see photos below) for sale, which can be ordered by contacting Paul, phone 740-849-2467. The Lunch Bunch group voted and approved the purchase of one to give to the new High School for display there.
We were thrilled to have a large group of 32 on hand, including Sue Squire Richardson, who is recovering from recent Lung surgery, and Roger McGlade, who recently had a knee replacement. Sue and Roger expressed their gratitude for the many cards and calls received wishing them a speedy recovery.
Bill Rushay and wife, Marlene attended from Columbus and Carl & Becky Factor from N.J. and Tom & Mary Ellen Hale from MI. Yesterday the Factor's, Hale's & Ferguson's attended the ZHS Alumni Gathering at Adornetto's and heard the Zanesville Barbershoppers' Chorus, about 30 strong including classmate John Power, do several beautiful songs (Click here for video).
Cornelia read from a message sent by Gloria Warner Poynter describing the memorial service held April 9 for Nancy Carter Gildersleeve in Frederick, MD. Bob Caldwell also attended the service.
