LUNCH BUNCH, April 9, 2013

What a beautiful Spring day!  We had 19 classmates and friends at our lunch today.  I'm hoping that everyone not present was out golfing, playing tennis or hiking!

Cornelia and Bill Ferguson walked in with pecan thumb print cookies with almond icing today!  This is the third time that Cornelia and Bill have brought us treats. Thank you both!

Donna Fulton VanMeter sent me a lovely E-mail.  She wanted me to thank all those who sent her notes and sympathy cards after the death of her husband, Roger, and expressed gratitude for having all of you in her life.  She is continuing to work at Kroger in the Insurance Department, and is hoping to retire possibly sometime this summer.  The work has helped her during this sad time in her life.

Jim and Pat Burkhart are back from their two month stay in Florida.  He said he played golf twice a week, and they both had a very good time.  He was happy to go to Florida, but very happy to get back home also!

Margie Robinson McNairy made our lunch today.  It was nice seeing her as it had been a while since she had been to lunch.

Nancy Cohen Fawcett had not been to our lunches for quite a while, but did make it today while her husband, Harold, was having his dialysis.  That takes four hours, so she was able to have a nice visit today.  Harold has dialysis three times per week!  Please keep both Nancy and Harold in your prayers as well as the following classmates.

1.  Shelby Hina Snelling is having total knee replacement.

2.  Carolyn Balog Waite is having more back surgery tomorrow.

3.  Marty Tanner's chemo for her ovarian cancer has stopped working.

Please keep Marty and Kinsey both in your prayers.

4.  Gwen Curry was in the hospital last week with intestinal problems, and

dehydration.  They still need to find her problem.

5.  Ruthann Menhorn Coulson is having a hysterectomy on May 13.

She will be unable to attend the next lunch.

5.  Gerald is home from Sterling Suites after his fall, and cracking two vertebra.

His brother is staying with him.  He has PT at home 3 x per week, and

occupational therapy once per week.  Gerald says he is about half way there.

Organization is the key word.  Our lunch today was very organized with tables appropriately set, and an excellent waitress taking our orders.  The staff is bending over backwards to serve us, and told us if we have any suggestions to feel free to let them know.  My meal of salmon patty, peas, macaroni and cheese, fruit cup and rolls and butter was delicious.  Everyone was very pleased with their meal and the service today.

Things to remember:

1.  Mini-class reunion October 11 and 12, 2013.

2.  We are meeting now at the VFW at 1318 Putnam Ave at 11:30 AM.

3.  Our next lunch is on Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Happy Spring to all.
